Steamed Rice with Mutton

By Sid • Jul 8th, 2007 • Category: Indian Food, Non Vegetarian Food
Steamed Rice With Mutton Curry Made this yesterday, when I didn’t have the patience for some of the elaborate mutton dishes. You’ll need:

  • 1 Kg Leg Mutton [gol meat]
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder [saut]
  • 1 tsp aamchur
  • 1 tbsp [or to taste]
  • 1.5 tsp paste
  • 250gms finely sliced [about 3 large]
  • 1.5 tsp
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp oil

Put the oil in a cooker and heat. Put in the and all the other ingredients except the meat, into the , fry till they start to turn brown. Throw in the meat and stir. Leave on till the meat releases water. Add about 1.5 cups of water and close. turn the burner to high heat and keep for about 20 minutes in the cooker [i use a futura, which is faster. you'll need to adjust for your cooker].

This so to speak, doesn’t have much gravy and is to be eaten with plain boiled rice.
