Review: Bhiwadi Gymkhana

We dined at a restaurant in the Bhiwadi Gymkhana a short while back. It is a spanking new place with clean, simple decor and good, friendly service. The presence of Manu, the man behind the efficient running of the entire complex, did make a difference to the experience. Our menu comprised (115), hanceller (120), ballantine (225), lamb moussaka (350), gateau di formaggi (150) and bread (50), finally topped by a fruit truffle (110). The meal was interesting, well presented, served well and tasted good. Some points:

  • Table linen would have been nice instead of paper napkins
  • The moussaka wasn’t really moussaka and over rated
  • The fruit truffle was chilled to the point of freezing, chocolate poured before chilling rather than prior to serving and was over rated.

All in all, a great experience with good food, the points above purely for improvement rather than criticism. BTW: the names of the dishes are as they appeared in my check.

Rating: 9/10 | Meal for two: INR 1000
