Review: Karims, NOIDA
By Sid • Nov 9th, 2007 • Category: Asian Food, Indian Food, Non Vegetarian Food, Posts, Restaurants In NOIDA, ReviewsI had this urge to indulge in red meat yesterday. So we headed for Karim’s, NOIDA.
Can’t say much for the ambiance - bare or stark rather than minimalist. The service too isn’t anything to write home about. I will concede they are mostly polite and keep out of your way.
Coming to the food - We ordered a Firdausi Korma, Shahi Mutton Korma, Nargisi Kofta, Keema Naans, Boondi Raita and Mutton Biryani. As with all our previous visits, the gravy for both the Kormas and the Nargisi Kofta were identical. In fact, both the Kormas themselves were just about the same. The Nargisi Kofta was nice, not spectacular. The Keema Naans, as always were delicious. The Biryani was ok again.
Having said that, they taste good, after you’ve gotten past the 1.5 inches of oil floating above every dish. So, for all of you who have a death wish, who hate clean, smooth arteries, or just those you want want to die undeniably happy - Go to Karims. The food is a cardiologists delight (depends which way you look at it) and tastes wonderful - something like soul food for die hard carnivores.
Rating: 8/10 [taste only] , Meal for two: 500

Would be nice if you could give more reviews on restaurants/pubs/eating joints. By geography/budgets/genre in Delhi/NCR if possible. Something like a reference for people wanting to eat out. Haven’t come across a comprehensive one on the net as yet…
