I found a nice bit of pork at the butchers today. Marbled with fat and just the right size, I thought something a little different was in order.
Loaded it on to the rotisserie in my oven and made a mixture of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sea salt, black bean paste, chilli oil, garlic and soya sauce. The meat cooked for about an hour at 170 with frequent basting. Turned out quite delicious with some gently fried onions and potatoes. Good for sandwiches too! - Sid |

That’s made me hungry! Sounds delicious.
Are you well? Guess what? The sun is SHINING! So I’m happy…:-)
Oh it tasted divine – if you like that kind of food that is. The basting mixture caramelised beautifully and made a rich, dark and spicy coating all over the meat and more than made up for the lack of marination.
Am well – thank you. As you may have noticed, I was totally off posting and cooking for some reason the last 15 days.
I do like that kind of food!
Glad you are OK, I’ve been miserable because of the lousy weather. I’m still waiting for summer but it is, today, officially autumn. I haven’t been cooking or writing – you might have noticed…;-(
How is Vinny coping? I hope she is well.
Yes, I did indeed notice – I was hoping *someone* would write, but looks like all of us were under the weather.
Mum is fine – she could do with some rest – so I’m taking everyone to Goa for a few days – leaving the 23rd of Sep and returning on the 26th. A few days of sun, sand and sea should make her feel better.
Oh, if only! It sounds idyllic. I expect you’ll all feel refreshed after your trip.
