The Foodies Plague - Excess Weight

By Sid • Apr 26th, 2008 • Category: Posts

I need to lose weight. At 130 Kgs / 286 lbs / 20.5 stone / 4585.6 ounces, I think it’s time to start thinking. The good part is, I’m not gaining any more. Now, what’s the strategy going to be this time around?

Will it be a diet? Perhaps a month or two of meal supplements? Shall I try yoga and meditation? So many choices exist that taking an informed decision becomes quite difficult. My searches on google brought me to this site that prescribes healthy nutrition for losing weight with the help of Nutrisystem, eDiets or Medifast. Interesting, as I’d never heard of those before. It also has a bunch of articles, tips and fitness program ideas. The other nice thing about this site is that it compares plans, diets and programs. That’s a tremendous help for people who don’t know where to start in their quest towards shedding weight. I’d need a few hours to compare two methodologies instead of the few minutes it takes using the content provided here.

Somehow, I think my best bet is to be a little more active, cut down on the calories during the week and swim, as that’s the one physical activity that I do enjoy and don’t mind doing.

  1. You weigh HOW MUCH!?? Crikey, Sid, that’s way too heavy for a man of your age! Get swimming, everyday if necessary. I’m 52 kilos, you could give me some of yours!

  2. Swimming is awesome! I was a fish as a kid and don’t hardly get time to do it anymore. Good luck to you!

  3. @Anne: Yes, I’ve started again as of yesterday. thanks! I’m also hoping osmosis helps.
