Citrus Cafe - Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon

Citrus Cafe - Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon The Citrus is in a small (and very good I must add) hotel called ‘The Lemon Tree’. Rather hard to find due to no signage out front, it is however well worth the trouble, as we found out on Sunday.

Looking for a convenient spot to meet on Sunday, the Lemon Tree was suggested and quickly accepted as I’d never been there before.

The interiors are bright and sunny, as is the service. In fact, I’d rate it as one of my best experiences w.r.t service. The music is non intrusive both in type and in volume. The menu while mostly standard does have a few interesting items. The other interesting aspect of the Citrus are the table mats. They have a few varieties floating around, each of which have comic strips and jokes printed on them. Quite nice, though I do hope they’ve taken the trouble to secure the necessary permissions to print and display them. The stools were interesting too, as you can see from the picture.

We ordered Cured Lemon that had lemon rind, , nachos, lettuce, , caramelised and green . This was nice, though the nachos should have been added last to avoid them becoming soggy. They have three on the menu and we tried all of ‘em - The Spanish Vegetable and (, brocolli. , , babycorn, with a walnut pesto ), Fajitas of ( fillets pan grilled with peppers, and , served with salsa and tortillas) and the American Mixed Grill sizzler ( , mutton patty, , pork chops, topped with a ). We also ordered some Country which was crispy and served with sour cream. All the dishes, with the exception of the , came with crisp potato wedges. All of this was washed down with lemon and peach ice tea in tall glasses.

We were there for about 4 hours, and were always left alone unless we needed something. All in all, I’m quite impressed with the place, the service, attitude and the food - all together make quite a visit-worthy package and do take some time out to have a relaxed Sunday here.
