Citrus Cafe - Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon

By Sid • Jul 14th, 2008 • Category: Restaurants in Gurgaon, Reviews

The Citrus Cafe is in a small (and very good I must add) hotel called ‘The Lemon Tree’. Rather hard to find due to no signage out front, it is however well worth the trouble, as we found out on Sunday.
Looking for a convenient spot to meet on Sunday, the Lemon Tree was suggested and [...]

What I ate on my holiday in France

By Toni Anne • Jun 14th, 2008 • Category: Posts

On the MV Bretagne from Portsmouth we find our cabin and stow our luggage.  To the restaurant for dinner but there was a long queue and we had to put our names on a list to be called when a table became vacant.  To the rear deck, with drinks - Sancerre for me and a [...]

CAL Reaches GB

By Sid • May 19th, 2008 • Category: Posts

Hello All - After much travelling, switches and toil I’ve reached the land of crumpets, scones and double cream. On the flight, I found I was tagged as a ‘Hindu’ and consequently, I was on the receiving end of ’special’ meals. Translate that as stuff with no eggs or meat. Mostly cabbage and potatoes with [...]

Indian Advertising

By Sid • Apr 23rd, 2008 • Category: Posts

Our advertising is getting quite good. Some ads however, are downright ridiculous and yesterday was one day when I had the privilege of watching three of them, nearly consecutively.
Nescafe (Instant Coffee): Bunch of pretty, well dressed girls. They want coffee. Surprise! They don’t have any money. But they do have… yes, you guessed right - [...]

So, you like salads?

By Sid • Apr 16th, 2008 • Category: Posts

Like the title says, most of us like salads in some form or another. No red blooded Punjabi would be caught eating mutton curry or any other meal without sliced onions, fresh breath be damned. Then we have those crisp crunchy salads in restaurants, dressed with yummy thousand island or perhaps a mayonnaise concoction.
Love them, [...]

The Great Indian Coffee Shootout

By Sid • Feb 12th, 2008 • Category: Posts, Reviews

What started as a casual cuppa is now showing all the signs of becoming an obsession.
Just for the heck of it, I decided to compare coffees. Number one on the list was a Starbucks Columbian Medium blend, the second was the Cafe Coffee Day Dark Forest blend and the third was an un-named, unmarked anonymous [...]

Cafe Saturday at NOIDA

By Sid • Jan 19th, 2008 • Category: Posts, Restaurants In NOIDA, Reviews

I’m somehow in love with the idea of cafe breakfasts and lunches - even when I’m not there, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee with fresh baked stuff gets my taste buds going.
This morning therefore, we decided to leisurely step out of the house and spend the day in the marketplace, with large amounts of [...]

My New Editor

By Sid • Jan 18th, 2008 • Category: Posts

This is my first post using a spanking new editor Xinha4WP. I’m sure its been around for a while, but I just found it after quite a while looking for a replacement for the Wordpress standard editor. Funnily, WP started scrunching my entire post into continuous lines of text, without any paragraph or line breaks! [...]

Review: i’lario, Sector 18, NOIDA

By Sid • Jan 17th, 2008 • Category: Fast Food, Restaurants In NOIDA, Reviews, Snacks

My quest for coffee took me to i’lario another cafe, open in the morning. They call themselves an Italian bakery too. Not really - Everything is quite good - but nothing I could call Italian.
I ain’t a coffee connoisseur, so I found the coffee to be just as good as Barista and about 35% cheaper [...]

Review: Barista, Sector 18, NOIDA

By Sid • Jan 16th, 2008 • Category: Fast Food, Non Vegetarian Food, Restaurants In NOIDA, Reviews, Snacks, Vegetarian Food

There’s really no need to write a review for Barista, well known as it already is. Barista offers the standard range of muffins, calzones and sandwiches - both vegetarian and non vegetarian.
Why am I writing this then?
I’ve been looking for a place in Sector 18, where I could obtain my morning cuppa - coffee that [...]
